“Even though I work on a construction site, I am not building anything but I manage the traffic coming in and out of the site. There are often a lot of big trucks, delivery vehicles and other machinery in and around the site, so my job is to ensure that the traffic is going smoothly and look after road safety. I’m just one person doing this task so it’s important to stay alert!” 

「雖然我喺地盤做嘢，但係我唔係負責起樓，我負責管理出入地盤嘅交通。地盤入面經常有好多大貨車、運貨車同埋其他機械，所以我嘅工作係要確保呢度嘅交通暢順同埋道路安全。呢個位淨係得我一個人做㗎咋，所以要保持警覺！」

“I moved to Hong Kong from Chiuchow in the late Seventies. At the time there were more job opportunities in the city so I decided to give it a try. I’ve been doing this job for over a decade, before that I was working in logistics. I met my wife here and we have three kids - they have all graduated now and all have some sort of office job - I don’t know exactly what!” 

“The construction site is in the middle of Central so there are always cars passing by here. I need to make sure that our vehicles move as efficiently and safely as possible so that we minimise obstruction to normal traffic. Of course you need to know the traffic rules to do this job effectively. I have a driving licence but I don’t have a car so I don’t drive - I got it 20 years ago!”
